G23 titanium (also written Ti-6Al-4V ELI) is the same alloy used in surgical and orthopaedic implants — bone plates, joint replacements, and pacemaker casings. It's manufactured to ASTM F136 / ISO 5832-3, the international standard for implant-grade titanium, which specifies exact purity and composition requirements. It isn't a marketing term — it's a verifiable material spec.

Titanium is chosen for implants because the body rarely reacts to it. That biocompatibility matters most for piercings: it contains no nickel, the single most common cause of metal-related skin reactions, so there's no guesswork around allergies — even for people with a known nickel sensitivity or a piercing that's still healing.
