Yes. All Cura Piercing Jewellery products are made from titanium. We do not currently sell surgical steel, gold, silver or other jewellery materials.

Titanium is commonly chosen for sensitive skin and is lightweight and comfortable for many people. However, every person's skin is different, so we cannot guarantee that irritation or sensitivity will never occur.

Yes, our Titanium is Implant Grade ASTM-F136. This is the same material and composition used in medical grade implants.

Some Cura titanium jewellery may be suitable for a healing piercing, we recommend plain studs like our Sara or Sofia Studs for new piercings.

The correct jewellery depends on the piercing placement, swelling, gauge, post length, ring diameter and your anatomy.

Please consult a professional piercer before changing jewellery in a fresh or healing piercing. New jewellery must be an appropriate gauge and leave enough room for swelling.

Hypoallergenic means that the jewellery is designed to reduce the likelihood of an allergic reaction. It does not mean that a reaction is impossible for every customer.

Irritation can result from incorrect sizing, friction, pressure, poor aftercare, trauma or an individual sensitivity. If your piercing becomes painful, increasingly swollen, hot or has unusual discharge, ask a professional piercer or healthcare professional for advice.

Most Cura jewellery is 16G, which is approximately 1.2 mm thick.

There are two main exceptions:

• Nose rings are 18G.
• Belly rings and Industrial Bars are 14G.

Always check the gauge shown on the individual product page before ordering.

Gauge refers to the thickness of the jewellery post or bar. The smaller the gauge number, the thicker the jewellery generally is. For example, 14G is thicker than 16G, while 18G is thinner than 16G.

Cura flatback posts are available from 4mm to 12mm, depending on the product and stock availability. All our flatback earrings come with standard 6mm post lengths.

The correct length depends on your anatomy and the piercing placement. A professional piercer can help you measure accurately.

Cura earrings come standard with a 6mm post unless the product listing states otherwise.

Cura rings are available in diameters from 6mm to 12mm, depending on the product.

Ring diameter means the inside measurement across the ring. The correct diameter depends on the placement of your piercing and your anatomy.

The post should be long enough to sit comfortably without pressing into your ear, but not so long that it moves excessively or catches on clothing and hair.

For a healing piercing, additional room may be needed for swelling. For a healed piercing, a shorter post may provide a neater fit. If you are uncertain, ask a professional piercer to measure your current jewellery.

Measure the inside diameter of a ring that already fits comfortably, or ask a professional piercer to recommend a size.

Do not select a ring based only on a photograph. Ear and body anatomy varies, and the same diameter will not fit everyone in the same way.

It will fit only if the jewellery gauge and dimensions match your piercing. Please check the gauge, post length or ring diameter before ordering. Cura Jewellery will NOT fit in gun piercings (20g), our jewellery is designed for 16g, 18g and 14g piercings.

If the jewellery is too tight, too loose or difficult to insert, do not force it. Contact a professional piercer.

Cura offers both threadless and internally threaded jewellery.

Threadless jewellery uses a tension-fit connection. The decorative top connects to the post without traditional screw threads.

Internally threaded jewellery aka screw on has the thread inside the post. The compatible decorative end screws into the post, leaving a smooth outer surface.

Only compatible Cura components (threaded tops with threaded posts and threadless tops with threadless posts) should be combined.

Check the product description before purchasing a separate top or post, and do not force components together.

Only change jewellery yourself if the piercing is fully healed and you are confident about the process. If the piercing is new, swollen, painful or difficult to access, have a professional piercer change it for you.

To change your flatback jewellery using a labret liner:

1. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.
2. Clean your new jewellery and labret liner, and place them on a clean surface.
3. Check that the new flatback has the correct gauge and post length for your piercing.
4. Remove your existing jewellery carefully. Never force it.
5. Screw the flatback onto the labret liner.
6. Gently guide the new flatback post along the labret liner and into the piercing from the back.
7. Once the flatback is in place, remove the liner slowly.
8. Secure the jewellery according to its design. Press threadless tops firmly into the post or screw internally threaded tops in gently without overtightening.
9. Clean the area once you have finished.

The labret liner helps guide the flatback through the piercing and can make changing jewellery easier, especially when the piercing is difficult to see or access. It is not intended to force jewellery through a closed, tight or irritated piercing.

If the new jewellery does not slide in easily, stop and do not push it through. A professional piercer can assist you safely. Seek professional advice if you experience significant pain, swelling, redness, unusual discharge or jewellery embedding into the skin.

Helix piercings commonly use flatback jewellery, but the appropriate gauge and post length depend on the piercing and your ear anatomy. For Helix piercings - Cura's most common gauge is 16G, and flatback posts lengths range from 4mm to 12mm.

A conch piercing may use a flatback post or a ring once it is healed. The correct post length or ring diameter depends on the thickness of your ear and the placement of the piercing. Check your size before ordering.

A tragus piercing often uses a flatback, but the required post length varies by anatomy. Cura offers flatback posts from 4mm to 12mm, with earrings generally supplied with a 6mm post.

A ring may be suitable for a fully healed conch piercing if the diameter and gauge are correct. Do not change a healing conch piercing to a ring without advice from a professional piercer, as movement and pressure can cause irritation.

The correct jewellery depends on the gauge of your lobe piercing. Cura's standard earrings have a 16g and 6mm post, but you should confirm that the gauge and post length are suitable before ordering.

Cura nose rings are 18G. Please confirm that your nose piercing accepts 18G jewellery before ordering.

Cura nose rings/ hoops are available in selected diameters between 6mm and 12mm wiith a 16g gauge, depending on the product. The correct size depends on your nostril shape, piercing placement and desired fit. A professional piercer can help you choose the diameter.

Cura belly rings are 14G. Check the product dimensions and confirm that your piercing accepts 14G jewellery before ordering.

Do not change a new or healing navel piercing without advice from a professional piercer. Navel piercings can take a long time to heal, and the jewellery must allow for swelling and movement.

Check the gauge, post length and design with a professional piercer before using any jewellery in a lip piercing. Jewellery for oral piercings requires particularly careful sizing to reduce pressure and contact with teeth and gums.

Clean your jewellery with warm, soapy water and a soft-bristled toothbrush to gently remove any buildup. Brush lightly around the jewellery, avoiding excessive pressure that could scratch the surface.

Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry completely with a clean, lint-free cloth before wearing or storing it. Make sure your hands and cleaning area are clean before handling the jewellery.

Avoid harsh cleaning products unless specifically recommended by a healthcare professional or professional piercer. They may irritate healing tissue.

You may generally sleep in jewellery that fits comfortably in a healed piercing. Avoid pressure on a healing piercing by using a travel or piercing pillow, particularly cartilage piercings.

Wait until your piercing is sufficiently healed and ask a professional piercer before changing it. A piercing may appear healed externally while the inside is still healing.

Do not force the jewellery or remove it without professional advice. Contact a qualified piercer for an assessment, particularly if the jewellery feels tight or appears to be embedding.

Handle the jewellery with clean hands, clean it with warm soapy water and a soft bristle toothbrush and store it in a clean, dry container. Avoid placing clean jewellery on unclean surfaces.

Cura uses a range of courier services. The courier may vary depending on the delivery address and order requirements.

Tracking details are sent by email and/or SMS or WhatsApp after your order has been dispatched.

Cura offers nationwide delivery within South Africa. International delivery may also be available to selected destinations; please check the current shipping policy before ordering.

Cura offers flat rate shipping of R100, with free South African shipping on orders over R1500.

Delivery times depend on your location, courier and whether the order is domestic or international. Delivery take 3-5 working days depending on your delivery location

Check your tracking notification first. If your parcel has passed the expected delivery period or the tracking has not updated, contact Cura at info@curashop.co.za with your order number.

For hygiene and safety reasons, Cura does not accept returns, refunds or exchanges on piercing jewellery that has been opened or worn.

Please check the gauge, post length and ring diameter before ordering. Opened or worn piercing jewellery cannot be returned or exchanged because it is the wrong size.

Yes. Cura accepts refunds or exchanges for faulty items, provided the item has not been opened or worn. If the piece is damaged or broken within 30 dyas of purchase, contact us and we will arrange for a collection and investigation

Contact Cura as soon as possible if you receive an incorrect item. The item must not be opened or worn for a refund or exchange to be considered.
